Started my reloading room project this weekend. I’d like to get some input from you guys on flooring, its approximately 10’x12’. It’s inside my finished basement, so on a concrete slab. Already pulled the carpet in preparation. Looks like the PO used the slab to paint trim.

Currently considering-

Vinyl tile/sheet linoleum

Concrete paint

Trying to keep the floor budget under $150, with minimal prep work. Will linoleum be my best option?

What say you fellas?

Wood or Epoxy, but not the multi-colored / flake colored stuff. Something solid in color.
Try finding a spring, detent, primer, roll / cotter pin, etc. on one of those is like trying to pick fly shit off the conveyor belt at the pepper factory.

Ask me how I know....

(not my pic,. but an example)

Yea, that's gonna get used again.

I would use a non porus surface that would be easy to sweep spilled powder from. Also, a color where it's easy to see a silver primer when you drop it.
Whenever I drop something like that on the floor, I use a strong flashlight, laying on the floor pointing sideways. Anything sticking up off the floor will show up like a sore thumb.

Worked in a hanger with a white epoxy floor. Its not as hard to keep clean as you would think, and its very easy to find anything you drop.

Whenever I drop something like that on the floor, I use a strong flashlight, laying on the floor pointing sideways. Anything sticking up off the floor will show up like a sore thumb.

Why don't more people know this trick? My Dad taught it to me 40+ years ago.

It was my first job out of college.

Yep, learned to do that to. Works on most any surface.

Rubber truck bed liner. Unroll where you stand, trim. ....easier on the feet and if it gets real grubby sweep, vacuum or roll it up and hose it off outside. Maybe get one free at a junk yard from a wreck. Rest of the flooor can be bare, no cost no prep, no labor and no maintenance beyond sweepin and so......more money for makin shells.

I've been reloading on a carpet, much like the carpet in the OPs picture. The vacuum hasn't caught fire yet, nor has a dropped primer gone off. But, finding things on the floor is a bitch! I do use the flashlight method. For the OP's floor, I second the Rust-Oleum EPOXYSHIELD. Many colors to choose from.
