Translation: Let the Assimilation Begin!

First of all, ya gotta get outa Durham. And don't move to Chapel Hill.
That's no joke. People told us not to move to Durham, but my wife got a job at Duke that paid us to move down here. Should have gotten out of Durham when we bought our house.
We've had bullet holes in our house since we bought it (a year ago) and at least 3 shootings on our street. Gun fire within a block each night for the last 3 nights. And our neighborhood doesn't look rough.
I'm thinking more like Creedmoor, Zebulon, Clayton, Wendell, Pittsboro. Get further away from the city. I want a range in the backyard (and a working forge). :)

Moved here from Western NY (Buffalo/Rochester area) back in 2017. Been in Durham since then. Enjoying the choices I get here as compared to back home. Less enjoying having people shoot at my house and finding bullet holes in it.
Had my CWP back in NY and got it here as soon as I could. Fan of Caswell Shooting Range, but wouldn't mind finding something similar a little closer to home. Teaching my nephew to shoot as well.
Ah, another escapee from Buffalo, in The Peoples' Republic of New Yorkistan. Praise Jesus! I passed an APHIS, NICS and state background check, but Erie County deemed me "not a law abiding citizen" going back to traffic tickets in 1989. They're a set up for failure. Erie County took almost two years to deny me. Worst county outside of NYC to get a CCP.

Welcome Aboard.
I lived in Webster for about 7 years. I don't miss the snow or the taxes.
Amen. You don't have to shovel "hot". Last year's tax return was more beneficial to claim I was a NC resident. I got a refund. If I'd have filed as a NY resident, I would have OWED.

Buffalo escapee also! Someone mentioned Paula's donuts. Donut Craze has made an acceptable challenge to Paula's. Their apple fritters are the size of Earth (and probably weigh as much.)
I left Buffalo before Paula’s came in. I miss bocces pizza, teds, mighty taco, Anderson’s and any place for wings much more then any donut.

The sign of an Assimilation progressing well, is that the feller avoids talkin' 'bout his Roots.

He learns to say, "I fum Lowe's Grove," and such like that.

I'll give a bran' new penny to anyone, currently being assimilated, who can tell me where to find Lowe's Grove, NC.

Edit: I remembered that it's Lowe's Grove, not Lowe's Corner. Anyone remember where it is?

Preach! One of the first jobs I had was at the mighty taco on Bailey Ave while was still good to hang there. Morrison Hotel, Wurzburger Haus. Lotta memories. Couple of pizza places who have awesome pizza like Bocce's. If not better. Ted's on Transit great dogs. Louie's Texas red hots, Seneca red hots by Caz Park. I'm here visiting for a bit now. Thanks for the memory tweak.

If you could bring me back a mighty taco 6 pack, beef, soft shell, medium with no sour cream that would be good. ;)
Enjoy your trip!

Yes sir. I apologize for that. I needed a little common ground for a minute. The covid thing has me working and living in the same 750 Sq ft. I haven't been socialized in a long time.
