Our view yesterday morning

Where's your beach driving permit?!?

I loved the Outer Banks 20 years ago, when it took a long drive on secondary roads to get there. I still enjoy going but I'm disappointed in the over commercialization and over development. You can escape some of that by heading further south into Frisco / Buxton / Avon, but unless you're willing to add an hour to your dinner plans it can limit your options.

It seriously does add an hour to any plans really l. We stayed in Avon for a week back in May. While I enjoyed it, it’s a big to do to go somewhere

We stayed in Hatteras in June and enjoyed it. We only ate dinner out one night so the drive wasn’t a big problem. Seeing Cape Hatteras Lighthouse lit up at night was worth it.
