Outlaw King on Netflix

I watched it today while working out. I really enjoyed it.

I hear you get to see Chris Pine's junk. So, yeah, I'm in.

Yeah...gratuitous dong scene, and booty scene.

As a review:

I appreciated that they made him more human in the movie. He does questionable things, is sometimes honorable, sometimes not, and in battle he gets banged up, pushed around, and isn't 100% super hero. Just a really good fighter, but not invulnerable.

The story is a bit slow for the first 30 minutes or so, but it does a good job setting up the characters and mood. The costumes, from what I have read, are FAR more accurate than Braveheart. Scots weren't wearing kilts yet at this time, and their dress is a lot more "authentic" looking.

The fight scenes, I thought, were very well done. Brutal, nasty, and personal. Really showed how combat at that time was just a nasty affair. My only gripe, as it is with most movies from this period, is how ineffective armor is. Mail armor was very effective at stopping blades, but time and time again we see folks just annihilated by a sword slash leaving their guts flayed open. Good for movies and visuals, but, not really realistic. But, its a movie, gotta look good too.

Lol, not that I saw, sorry to be a downer.

Dude, there is a scene where he is swimming in a bog, and gets out slowly...all of him. Its not like "Boogie Nights" dongage, but certainly enough to make one question if its real or not. (if its real, Captain Kirk got a big photon torpedo)

Ya I remember that, but it's not like I leaped out of bed and got close to the screen.

I don't trust anyone that can take a dip in cold water and not get shrinkage. How the hell is that possible?

The paper armour always bugs me too. Nice to see some period costumes that aren't inappropriate too.
