P4xi still have any merit?

I can definitely agree with that.I do not own any high end glass.honestly the glass on this Steiner is really good imo.The dot is awesome.this is replacing a MRO that was on that gun and I’m ready to put some rounds down range!
 
I have a couple red dots on ars but my go to has a lpvo. A good buddy had a Steiner on one of his rifles last time he came to shoot and man it was sweet.
 
I’m really just hoping that it holds up well.anyone here used and abused a p4xi?some seem to say they have reliability issues and others say they are GTG
 
One of my bigger regrets was selling my P4Xi when I moved up to a 1-8.
Now they cost way more than they used to. Get the throw lever.
 
Looking through several trijicons and leupolds I own,I think the p4xi has better glass.
It came with a throw lever.gonna take a little getting used to twisting counter clockwise to power up instead of clockwise like my other scopes.
 
I got lucky & scored a screaming deal on mine- just a hair under $400 with Mil/LE discount from DSG, but that was back when $500 was the going rate. Left enough room in the budget to plus up to a ADM Recon X mount.

Well, no issues, obviously. Lol! I don’t run & gun or do courses with it, but it’s bank vault solid. It’s my TEOTWAWKI/SHTF gun, so I wanted everything “right”.

I shoot NTCH & with my protruding, cro magnon brow, I need the Recon X to get the he scope out far enough for proper eye relief.

Trash, pure trash. Because I’m a niceish guy, I’ll give you 250 for it 😁. Seriously, I have one and it’s a great scope. Have mounted with the LaRue Tactical SPR QD mount. Like others said above the glass makes up for the magnification. Does everything I need.
 
P4xi in an ADM mount is what’s on my go to rifle. 4x is plenty of magnification with the glass clarity and the 1x performance is hard to beat.
 
Definitely not obsolete. Perfect for a carbine and all I’ll ever want or need. Not horribly heavy. I liken it to a min-Razor.
I love mine dearly.
Had it for several years now and it’s never given me problems. Gets dumped in barrels and stuff but I’m a geez so it’s not really hard use.
I got mine for 459$ with throw lever.

I realized it was a good deal then, but didn’t really appreciate the magnitude of the deal. Wish I would have bought 4!

Same here. I think it was $475 with a throw lever from DSG several years back. At that time I did not have their MIL/LEO discount account created.
 
The PX4i’s are great at the $499 with mount they used to be. No way I’m paying their current asking price for one. $860 at EuroOptic. They aren’t that good.

I can get their T5Xi 1-5 for $1180 with my .mil and that’s a way better optic. The PX4i is still $600 with their military sales rate and that’s too much for what you’re getting IMO
 
Great optic at the old price. 4x is still plenty of magnification for most distances. Especially if you put time on it and learn/develop your capabilities with it.

I agree at 900ish I am likely looking at a Razor 1-6 or something along those lines, as much as I like the Steiny.
 
At the 'old' price it very much punched above its weight. At $900 just so many good competitors, especially for just a little more. Sometimes you can find used ones at or close to the old price on M4C.net.

Edited to add, I just saw this on M4C, and the ad was up a day before it sold at $565. So you can find them.
