Painting GAP Camo pattern - Boyd’s ProVarmint stock

I have this stock and want to paint it in Gap camo pattern.

Anyone have recommendations on stencils that work well? Or just lay it out painters tape? Process of sand/krylon/clear coat?

It currently has the factory Boyds textured black finish.

Krylon has some templates for folks to print out on their site. I think I will take a spare old stock and try the painters tape method first. Also found a good tutorial on sponge technique that gives results very similar to manners style.

Let us know what you do and how it works. I've thought about doing something similar with an M14 stock I have.
