Panteao shooting range is under attack

pretty sure they're gonna run into our range protection law here in NC where a range is grandfathered from this type of crap.

Don't feel bad, one of my 4 close neighbors used to complain about the noise. After I informed me of the NC law and the fact he has a next door neighbor who holds an FFL and is an LEO who told him basically to suck it.......haven't heard a word.
Give him the name of your real estate agent so he can pack up and bother somebody else.

It seems that realtors are part of the problem. People were complaining that they were never verbally informed by the builders agents that they were right on top of a private range. Apparently the notification is buried deep in the sale contract.

... and the horse he rode in on right back to where he came from.

:D

I love a happy ending.

Hey! Get your minds out of the gutter. This ain't Tortuga!

The problem is with the buyer. If I were to buy another house I would visit during all hours if the day or night. I would ride the streets in the vicinity of the property too. Nights, afternoon, weekends. Look and see what the neighbors are up to. Look for race cars and other noise makers. There are clues if you just open your eyes and look.

I live on a dead end street. You don't have the traffic of people riding through. I you don't live on my street you stick out like a dogs bullocks. Quiet is the word now with all the shutdowns. Very quiet.

I was taught to read contracts before signing, I've always read my mortgage documents and HOA documents. I have no sympathy for home owners that can do the same.

I have the same way of shopping for a home. My neighborhood is the same as well. Shady types stick out.

Yep, Caveat Emptor!

I was always surprised at the people that didn't read the fine print. Just hand them a pen and they would sign.

We are happy to announce that the yearlong dispute with the neighbors near the range has come to a conclusion and the matter settled. The range will continue to operate, offering a safe and fun place for people to come and enjoy shooting outdoors. We would like to thank all of those that showed their support for our facility.

That is absolutely fantastic to hear sir, I’m glad you folks were able to get the matter resolved but I’m also sickened to know you had to even go through all of this mess in the first place, I hope the range and its members can now enjoy many years of safe and peaceful shooting!

So what was the main term of the settlement? Did you have to change the range design or implement any range restrictions?

Congratulations Fernando. That is great news! I know this has been a huge, miserable pain in the ass and unjustly so.

I have been a member there since you first posted here on CFF and I call Panteao my home range so I am thankful that y'all stuck to it and fought the good fight. I'll have to bring you a nice cigar next time I come to celebrate.

Congrats! A rare victory for 2A! Thank you for taking up the fight!

I can't get into that here in an open forum. The use of the range will not impact the members at all. The majority of the stuff we have been doing over the past year has been berm related and sound mitigation. All things we were already working on prior to this mess.

Thank you for your continued support. A nice cigar I will never turn down! :)
