Lets say for instance you did something really stupid to a revolver and may need a part or two.

Are the parts that can be purchased online, like say Taurus parts from Numrich, drop in? Or do they require “fitting”?

Just curious for future reference.

Depends on the parts.

Revolvers, since they aren't stamped or plastic molded, are fairly commonly 'fitted' pieces rather than drop in.

Depends on what parts u be talking ‘bout. Anything having to do with sears and such will probably require fitting. Simple screws, trigger springs, etc probably not.

Lets just say the hammer may have gotten cocked back to a quarter cock position while the cylinder was out of the gun. I put the cylinder back on and it was completely frozen, so I removed the cylinder again and used a punch to gently nudge the parts were out of whack back in to place. It worked, but now I don't trust it, so I feel the need to open it up and see if anything looks obviously damaged. Taurus model 66, 4 inch barrel.
