I'm thinking about purchasing a pellet grill. My question is, how big of a grill do I need, to cook six chickens at the same time? Another related question is, if the grill has 3 cooking surfaces, and I place chicken on all three surfaces, will they all be done at the same time?

Some literature concerning Pellet Grills state that the second cooking rack is a "warming rack".

Thanks,
Larry

I have a 1000ish cubic inch pit boss and think I could fit six chickens without much trouble. I don’t think you can cook them on three different levels and get them done at the same time without some serious temp monitoring and maybe switching the arrangement around. My grill seems to be a little warmer near the vent than on the opposite side. I’m not sure about temp variations at different heights from the main grate. An option you may have would be the vertical pellet grills. I don’t have any experience with them but it may be more efficient to heat the entire grill to a more even temp.
