Just wondering... how do you deal with ash and how often? I see the auger that delivers the pellets but not an ash deposal. Does it just gather at the bottom of the fire pot?

Thinking about getting a Tailgater model.

Thanks Guys / Gals! :)

I've got the same model.

Vacuum out after half a bag or a long run when cooled down in the morning.

I don't use mine very often now, more like once a month, so I vacuum it before every use.

I have a Camp Chef Pellet grill. I've had this once since June, 2016. Man, I use this bad boy heavily. The key to longevity is keeping it clean. I have a Stanley shop vac from Walmart ($17.00). I vacuum it before every cook. I foil the inside and keep the thermometer clean. Every 4 -5 cooks, I give it a good spraying with apple vinegar. That keeps my current cook from smelling like the previous...

As I headed west on 4o today and got to about Winston-Salem my phone rang. Grillbillies was calling to let me know my Yoder is in. Figures. Out of town for another week. Can’t wait for the initial cook. As a matter of fact this calls for a new thread and a group discussion.

I got a Traeger for papa day.
Why and where do you foil & vinegar?
It’s kept in the garage when not in use.

I don't vacuum mine... I changed my control unit for an aftermarket model that has a shut down mode. It burns through remnants in the pot and the fan blows the whole time. There's no Ash build up.

I’ve got 7.5 lbs of sings on right now and I didn’t even need the bottom larger rack. Going to have to have some guests this fall and load it up. Will pics when I when I check them in a little while.

7.5 lbs all on the top rack. Pretty darn good. Smoked at 200 for about 1.5 hours then cranked it up to 375 to finish them off.
