Getting ready to soak/spray another batch of stuff and figured some might find the dilution of the solution useful.

0.5% is the recommended and commercially available strength for the application of Permethrin to clothing, tents etc. Sawyer sells it ready to apply but it is fairly pricey.

Using the 10.% solution available at Tractor Supply and similar stores you will need to dilute it 19:1. 19 parts water and 1 part 10% Permethrin.

The easiest way is to put 6.4 ounces Permethrin in an empty 1 gallon jug and slowly fill the rest of the way, 121.6 ounces with water. Then spray or soak.

Works for me, ymmv.

Once you start using Permethrin you'll never try anything else for ticks and chiggers. Last two turkey seasons I've only picked one tick off me and I've been in some blackberry patches without a chigger bite while people I've hunted and scouted with get eaten alive.

Yes, better bang for the buck too.

Duckduckgo search fooo says 1.6 ounces added to 1 gallon of water gives you the magical 0.5% using the 36.8% Permethrin.
Close, that's about 0.45%. 1.75 ounces would give you 0.496% but I doubt the difference is really significant.
