Scores are up. Congratulations to Dan Murphy for his fast and accurate shooting. He earns one internet bragging rights coupon. Not valid in AK or HI.

Also, if you shot today's match but did not get an email with scores, its because no one likes you. (Just kidding) Actually, I probably just have your email address wrong. please message me if you would like to be included on future emails regarding the match. I probably couldn't read your handwriting.

Guy I'm looking for feedback regarding the match yesterday. Its not about what I want in a match, its about what the shooters want. Ideas, comments, or suggestions? Please don't be too harsh.
Topics of focus: Round count, stage complexity, stage briefs, moving while shooting, etc. It's no good if I set up a match that I want, but no one shows up.

Also, practiscore and 3D stage drawings are on the agenda.

Isaac,

Thanks again for doing this.

I will kick this off.
  • ... all weak hand shooting should be removed from competition !!! .... I wasted a half a box on ammo on stage 1 !!
  • I thought the distance to the targets was great. A few close ones for speed, and most at a good distance to enforce good shooting habits.
  • Practiscore would be great
  • 3D stage drawings .... not really needed, but if it helps you plan and layout, then by all means have fun
  • Would love to see one BUG match (5+5 or 6+6 strings), in the hot summer months
  • Round count... I am torn. I do like the 125-150 range, but I also like single stacks. Maybe setting two strings of fire on a single stage, so single stack and bug guns have a chance at decent times?
  • I like the shooting lanes/lines for enforcing cover. Much easier for the RO. In terms of setup and layout, I don' think you need so many lines on the ground. Maybe just a line or two, for stopping points.
  • This month, there was a greater emphasis on decision making while moving (how to maneuver the course). I liked that (wasn't good at it, but I liked it).
  • Any chance of getting swinging or clam shell targets?
  • I liked the use of no-shoot targets on stage 4. What if you put more no-shoot targets farther down range behind the shoot targets to force shooters to know what is behind their targets?
  • Rather than putting this question in a scores/monthly match thread, move it out to it's own thread for an ongoing discussion. Maybe other shooters will contribute ideas and can share interesting stages/designs they have shot or want to shoot.

(just kidding about the weak hand shooting ... keep it in there, I do need the practice)
