Does anyone know the status of opening up the 100 yard range. They were supposed to look at fixing the bridge Thursday or Friday. Really pisses me off that they didn't take the time to fix that POS bridge when the range was down this spring. Sent the club an email and still haven't heard anything back.

It looked like people were shooting this morning out to the 50 yard berm.

They did a lot of work to repair it and it was usable until monday??? There was a ridiculous amount of rain last monday??? And it washed out the dirt on both sides of the culvert. They might have to build a bridge with some sort of structure that is driven into the ground. The way the property is laid out (a.valley) is great for a gun range due to having a natural berm......however all of the water from both sides of the valley runs down to that area.

3 inches in an hour is not abnormal but it is “a lot,” scientifically speaking.

All the workers must work for the NCDOT during the week and this is a sideline job as long as it seems to be taking. They can't decide who's gonna work and who is gonna hold the shovel.:p

Went down there yesterday hoping to get a spot on the 200. All benches were full, waited an hour and went home. Talked to a guy doing some work on the 50 berm and he said nobody has even been down there to look at it.

Sent an email to the officers yesterday and the guy came back with well you can't get a contractor on a minutes notice. I asked him if they had a design I would get him a contractor. Crickets.

That POS bridge has been in rotten shape for a long time. I talked with a guy that said two engineers gave them a design but the guy in charge didn't give a crap. Got a contractor and told him to put the pip in and cover it up. There should be at least two 72" culvert pipes in there instead of one. Looks to me like it would be better just to design and install a 8'x20' precast slab in there and be done with it.

So essentially now if you want to shoot past 50 your going to have to get in line at the 200. Club needs new management.

I thought they did a ton of work on the bridge to fix the wash out issue a year or two ago?

Anybody know the status? I did a lot of storm piping and this doesn't look like rocket science or needing a engineered solution.

Actually if it’s a jurisdictional stream (which I think it is), there is a little bit of paperwork needed to go with it. Things like the USACOE requirement to embed the pipe in the steam bed, notification of repair/maintenance activity, etc. Nothing that should hold up the show, but not as simple as slapping another pipe in there and calling it a day.

ATTENTION
Due to a hard, short rain, (3 inches in one hour) the 100-yard bridge over the creek has been damaged. Therefore, the 100-yard berm is NOT accessible at this time.
We are awaiting a proposal from a contractor for the necessary repairs.
We will make an announcement in this spot as to when the bridge will re-open and the 100-yard berm is accessible again.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Open House Announcement
Due to the current Covid Restrictions, there will NOT be an Open House on Saturday, September 26.
If you have not yet turned in your annual renewal information, you may do so while attending the Kind Heart Raffle.

I know it's frustrating, please be patient

Is the 100 yd been off limits or you just can’t drive to it? I wear boots to the range and JR loves crossing creeks!
