Pictures of your refinished weapons!

I love the dull look of that stock. Great job

I'll bring mine over, what do you charge?

Srsly, looks great, I'm going to copy.

Looks great. I took my wood off about 10 years ago and replaced it with plastic. Wish I had my wood back.

Great,Thanks for this, now I have to go out and buy a stock for mine. (I'm not going to sand and refinish mine) [emoji3]

Seriously, it looks great, I'm gonna follow your lead on this.

This thread forced me to be ambitious with a long overdue project. I forgot before pics, but it was just like above.IMG_3527.JPG IMG_3528.JPG IMG_3529.JPG IMG_3530.JPG

I had it on an ATI plastic folder but this is far better looking. Thanks for the motivation.

6 coats hand rubbed Tung oil finish (4 high gloss and 2 flat to cut it just a little) then a coat of minwax wax.

All kinds of good working going on there. Never knew an SKS could look so good. I've got a Norinco way back in the safe somewhere

This stuff worked well for me. When I did the SKS, I sprayed it, came back about 20 min later and the finish had just about peeled off whole. Wiped down with a scotchbrite pad and rinsed off with the hose. The Mosin took a little more scrubbing with the scotchbrite pad, but not much. Very easy projects.

Im debating on doing my mosin today. its a 1927 russian ex dragoon... so Im hesitant to on this one.

I understand. I had no reason to believe mine is collectible. It had even been modified for the scope. I think I may have increased the value by $5 or so!

Refinished an old SKS stock back years ago and used a gray color stain that I bought from Lowes followed by satin clear coat and there was enough grain in the SKS stock to highlight the dark/light areas. Came out pretty good, looked like weathered wood from an old fence post with a bit of shine.
Did the same to a Boyds tacticool stock that I bought for a Savage rifle. There was no grain pattern to that wood and it just came out a very dark gray. That didn't look so good.
