Pistol Picture Thread

This is the first of a couple Third Generation Smiths showing up this week. It is a 3953TSW. This is the DAO version of the 3913TSW. It is a single stack 9mm with 7+1 capacity. Alloy frame and stainless slide. Short grip for easy concealment. Really nice DA pull.

It appeared (until this evening [emoji16]) to have been unfired or close to it since leaving the factory. Felt fantastic and it’s probably going to be a favorite carry gun.

I just bought a 3913TSW (short grip / no rail) about 10 minutes ago...so no more 3rd Gens for me this weekend

I'm a bit confused.

I found PART of a handgun yesterday...

I have no idea what the finished product was supposed to be.

Sacrilege - somebody demilled a 1911! Although, now that the damage has been done, it would be cool to make the rollmarked part of the slide into a creative tribute to the old gun.

Picked this guy up over the weekend. XDS 4.0 9mm. Dedicated carry gun especially when discretion is a must.

Springfield had a special on mags, so I ordered a pair, another 7 round and a 9 round.

Holster ordered for it as well, just need IWB clips and a way to carry a spare mag as well.

I understand now. You traded 6 pair of socks, a broken ladder back chair, a dull cross cut saw, and an over ripe watermelon for it. How far did I miss it?
Close. I had to throw in some used charcoal to seal the deal.

Let’s play a little game. What the hell is this? Dad brought this to me stuck in a tool box. It had been in the toolbox in a wood shop for at least forty years. Think it’s 32 caliber since those bullets fit.

I showed it to an elderly gentleman and he just said “that’s an ole owl head.” LOL. There is a circle with an owls head in it on the grip. Oooookkkk.

Excellent deep concealment gun and DA makes for great safety. Looks like a good purse gun for a female as well. I like the barrel length for site picture on the smaller grip. Good find.

I've been searching for a shooter grade Colt 1903 Hammerless for years that I could actually afford. Dream finally realized when a found a decent example for $399. It was in good mechanical condition with an excellent bore but the blueing was completely gone and the exterior was covered with rust, pitting and dings/dents. Instead of paying someone to refinish the gun I decided to try and Cerakote it myself. I have several other projects that need finishing anyway so I should be able to recoup my investment in a blast cabinet and a curing oven.

Disassembled and cleaned:

Dunked in acetone:

After blasting with aluminum oxide:

Coated and baked:

Assembled and ready to shoot:

God job on that old Colt.

Perhaps it was being used as a beer tap handle?

Maybe. That bolt coming out of it was attached to a spring and you could pull it outward about an inch, then it would pull back in. But I don't know why.
