Pistol Sights Under Various Lighting Conditions

I expect the probability will be high in a densive shooting that there may be no overhead light at all, either outside at night or indoors so I'm sticking with tritium. My main HD weapon is a 9mm AR pistol with red dot and my backup a G22 with tritium all around but the front site is new so it's brighter. Couldn't ask for a better setup IMHO.

I don't like shooting at things I cant see, so I use a weapon light. Night sights are useless if there is a flashlight in the room(ypurs or someone else's). if you have never played with this go into a dark room look at your night sights and then cut on a flashlight.
I'm not saying that night sights don't have there use, but I would get a good weapon light before I go nightsights.

Bad guys usually don't operate in complete dark and neither we a large percentage of the time. There are numerous situations where the target can be identified but you cannot see standard sights well enough to use them (a yard somewhat lit by streetlights quickly comes to mind) . It is also advantageous to not illuminate yourself in some situations. For all of those reasons, I do not carry a gun with a WML mounted and night sights are always the first thing I do to a carry gun that doesn't have them. I have a WML mounted on the house gun...but it has night sights too.
