Why do you ignore the sign??? They are specifically stating that they don't want you in their establishment/business by putting up the sign, so why would you still give them your business, and your money???
In SC it is against the law to carry in a posted establishment, if it has the correct, mandated signage. But even if they post their establishment with a home-made sign that doesn't meet the legal standards, I still take my business, and money elsewhere.
I ignore the sign because I want my B-Dubs.
When I'm in SC, I follow the law in SC. That means B-Dubs, if posted in accordance with SC law, is off limits for me when I'm carrying and I don't go there at all when I'm not carrying because of that. With one exception: when my youngest daughter wants to celebrate her birthday there.
But you wanna know something? The B-Dubs in SC that I've been to DON'T post in accordance with SC law at all. They post their own cute little corporate sign which says (and I'm paraphrasing, here) "Buffalo Wild Wings prohibits firearms in this establishment". Which. Is. NOT. In. Accordance. With. SC. Law.
So, guess what the Chief does in SC? Yep, he legally carries his weapon in BWWs when he goes.
When I'm in VA, where my job is, the law there is different. In VA, the signs don't carry the force of law, so I could care less what the businesses say unless I'm specifically told to leave. Then I'll leave.
When it boils right down to it, nearly every business will have something about it that I object to for one reason or another. Maybe they carry a line of product made by a company I don't like for some reason. Maybe they're owned by some huge liberal corporation. Maybe they beat bunnies with sticks to thicken and toughen up their skins so they'll make better furry gloves. Whatever.
We all make our choices.
Me? I'm no different. I make my own choices, too. If B-Dubs was REALLY all that concerned about this, then they'd get with the program and post their places of business in accordance with the jurisdictional laws. But, for whatever reason, they choose not to. Maybe there's a message there, because it's a helluva nice loophole.
