Has anyone flown out of CLT lately with a handgun and used a Glock case that the gun came in? As long as you declare it and lock it with a padlock, is it TSA approved?
I'd rather not have to buy a whole other case like a "pelican" when I already have these.
Thanks!

As far as I know, you can use any case that can be secured with a lock as long as that case is placed inside another bag that meets the airlineā€™s requirements.

While it may be okay ... just placing a padlocked Glock case in your suitcase and locking your suitcase is not enough security for my peace of mind ... I donā€™t trust the baggage handlers or TSA when the airlines are pretty much marking your suitcase now to the point it announces ā€œfirearm insideā€ some idiot might get stupid. When I fly I run the cable of my NanoVault (Amazon has a great knockoff for under $25 https://smile.amazon.com/AmazonBasi...rds=nanovault&qid=1565562327&s=gateway&sr=8-1 ) around the frame of my suitcase and no little grabby hands can take my handgun or box w/handgun inside it. When not using it for air travel it rides under the seat of my vehicle just in case I have to store my EDC or such when need be.
