So Midway just had the PF940c 80% white blems on sale for $74.99 and I couldn't pass it up. Now to get all the other parts. I've been looking at Lone Wolf, Grey Ghost, and Zev for slides. Anyone else build one of these that could post pics or any info on what you used. I know that these can get pretty pricey depending on what I put on it, but I've built an 80% AR, and an AR-9 so I'm beginning to enjoy building my own.

On the Gen 1 spent a bunch of money buying all trick parts from all over, Zev ultimate trigger kit with the springs & striker. An aftermarket threaded barrel, aftermarket guide rod & spring, The Slide is the P80 slide they offer, Dawson Precision sights. It's ok but I don't like the old style as compared to the new style and plan on transferring the parts onto a build of a new Gen 2 frame build soon.
The Gen 2 frames are big improvement over the gen 1's both aesthetically and functionally.
I am a Glock armorer so I can buy my upper & lower parts directly from Glock. This actually only saves a small bit of money and takes longer to get orders processed and shipped.
But I have gone to doing that over the aftermarket parts for most of the builds for the most part because I have found most of the aftermarket stuff only looks better than stock but doesn't live up to the hype. You can save time by purchasing upper & lower parts kits already built and you will pay a little more, but the convenience is not a bad trade off imho. One part of the build I WOULD recommend is a Brownells slide. For the money they are very high quality at a really good price when they are on sale. They go on sale with free shipping pretty regularly too. I would NOT recommend the P80 brand slides because they look nice, but their tolerances are inconsistent and not anything close to a stock Glock slide.IMG_1121.JPGGen 2 G19

Good looking builds. I appreciate the info. I was looking at brownell's slide but I also saw a Zev Spartan cut slide with rmr for 50% off.

There are some good slides out there, I have had to return 1 P80 Slide and am not terribly happy with another. 070.JPGStock slide on left compared to P80 slide. See the rail slot thickness with added material? That adds too much height for the safety plunger to work properly. But you can't use the slide anyway because the safety plunger rod hole is drilled into the striker channel. P80 slides are crap. Stay away from them Far far away.

I have been staring at after market Glock 34 slides for two days. I'm about to order this one with RMR cut out and RMR cover cerakote in blue titanium for $359.99 and free shipping.

I haven't ordered it yet. Do you know of any reason why I shouldn't?

I'm also about to order a threaded G34 barrel in TiN from MidwayUSA for $170. Any objections, @Partsfreak ?

My advice: measure twice and cut once.

The frame on the left was done in a bit of a rush. The frame on right was done with a lot more patience and double checking. Notice the locking block and trigger housing pin holes on the left frame are elongated. Seriously, make sure you take your time.

Hell no objections, that slide looks sweet! at $170.00 its a steal too.

My G17 size P 80 gun made a trip through the Battery Oaks Custom Shop recently. Reshaped the trigger guard and removed the lugs below the barrel.

Was gifted a G17 slide and barrel so ordered a P80 CL. Compact Longslide so takes G19 mags but frame for G17 slide. What the G19X should have been inside G17 frame with G19 slide.
