Stopped at the Popeyes chicken at the TA truckStop outside Burlington. Had the spicy chicken....

can’t believe I’m gonna say this but.....

damn If it wasn’t the best fast food chicken sammich I ever had.

I watched them make it, it was hot and fresh and very good.

Amazing the difference it makes when you wait till the craze dies down and you can get one fresh made.

The one in Mocksville just dips the whole sandwich in "mayo..." no thanks.

Key is 'no pickles' so they HAVE to make it fresh.
Even back then, they'd have them piled up, but you ask for that and you get a freshy
 
While I still refuse to do business with the "public" Popeyes, I stopped at the one on post this past week to try one.

I will give credit where credit is due, they have knocked it out of the park with the spicy one. I was shocked how good it was, and a massive sandwich at that. I haven't tried the plain one yet.

As bad as I hate to admit it, Chick-fil-A will be losing a good deal of my business as long as I have access to a well kept Popeyes with polite employees.
 
I have had both spicy and not and either one is the best fast food sammich I ever had!!!

A few reasons..

None around me in areas that I care to sit in a drive through line or sit down to eat in.

Most all of them around here look nasty/run down/poorly kept.

The couple times that I have tried the ones around me the employees have had less than favorable attitudes.
