Was thinking about this whilst flipping Sirius XM channels.

Classic Rock: Van Halen. Just can't stand them.
Grunge/Alt: Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just can't stand them.

So sometimes its: Ozzy's Boneyard => nope => Lithium => nope => B.B. King's Bluesville (ah, usually a safe haven - though not a fan of Johnny Lang's material since the first album).

Agreed, except Lang. Really like his earlier stuff.

Def Leppard, any big haired 80's 'rock' metro pop, commercialized over studio produced 'artists' that were chosen to market with no talent, any autotuned tripe, almost everything currently on broadcast radio.

The Beetles

Ya I said it! I can't stand em!

Never understood the hype.

that is so not fair - they have two good songs. they arent very memorable and i have since forgotten what they are, but im pretty sure there are two. wait nevermind i was thinking of two who songs. my bad. the beatles suck.

I can't stand Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Velvet Revolver, 5 finger death punch, Avenged Sevenfold, The White Stripes or Van Halen without Hagar, when it comes to rock. (I'm sure there are more, but they're not coming to mind.)

Country... I don't like any of the 'bro' country from the last few years. The stuff about coolers and new trucks, and borrowing heavily from hiphop.

About the only Rap/hip hop I like is stuff that was on the radio when I was in high school. Late 90's stuff.

I dislike jazz in general. Something about its sound just makes me uncomfortable. Not a fan of saxophones I guess.

The triangle doesn't have any real alternative rock or classic country stations, so most of what I have to listen to in the work truck is garbage.

I despise AC/DC there's probably more, but I hate these guys, nails on a chalkboard.

Could be a lifetime of jokes, questions, and other references to them, not actually the music but the result's the same.

Hate Guns and Roses, Motley Crue, Some Van Halen , most Def Leppard , Most any 80's "rock". Any "rock" that has brass instruments in it. Never was a huge fan of the Beatles. John Denver, America, Van Morrison and the ilk were sent by the russians to destroy our society. Anything hip hop is unlistenable.

Like: Most all grunge, AC/DC, Ramones, Stones.

I have wide ranging tastes but I absolutely cannot stand 99.97% of "rap". I don't say 102% because there are a couple that don't make me puke but aren't likely full on rap. I also dislike listening to classical for extended periods. I do like the Beatles, John Denver, some G&R, some Metalica, AC/DC, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. I realize that makes me kind of an odd duck, but I'm OK with that!

The Police. There are more but that is the first one that come to mind.

I couldn't ever get into Rush or Floyd. When you grow up in a auto shop where the radio dial is literally glued to the classic rock station, that's a hard thing to live with! Those two bands are teh go-to tunes for most classic stations.

Woah woah woah. I know we're all supposed to wear our thick skinned big boy pants in this thread, but DAYUM! Hating on AC/DC?!?! THe new stuff...yeah whatever. But the classic?! Were you tortured with it as a kid?!

I can't stand to hear Bob Segar sing. I have to turn it off when he comes on. Not sure why, it's like a knife in my ear. Same with Axl Rose. He sounds like a cat screaming in a fight.

And, hate to say this one - Stevie Wonder. He's a great musical talent, but his voice drives me bonkers.

Try 88.7 WXDU Duke University radio. You won't be able to pick them up in Raleigh very well, but anywhere in Orange or Durham counties and most of Alamance I can get them in my car. They play stuff from the 1930's to today with no commercials.

1. Kay Kyser.
2. Imagine Dragons.
3. Fifth Dimension.

It's nice to see we agree on some music, I loathe the 80's pop. It was playing all the time when MTV arrived/through high school.
I do appreciate some Led Zeppelin, John Bonham was quite impressive, yet they did copy a lot of their music from delta blues.

Dude, I love freaking 80s pop
In fact, Ive been down in the music room since I got home from work (4ish?), playing The Cars and random one hit wonders like Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam ("Lost in Emotion") etc. It's just fun to me.
I listened to it as I worked over on my project bench I'd built - wrapping my gifts up so far, as well as on a little idea I had for my paintbrushes (dont have many, but I had a small idea and am starting it).

As for Zep, there's a song or two I really do enjoy, Fool in the Rain (if I recall correctly, is the name) is good, it's chill. But their 'rock' songs do nothing for me.

But Im sort of all over the place with music.
Except that crap I listed. F that crap.
