Might be a long shot, but would anyone be interested in a mid-week meet to go shoot before it gets really cold? Maybe down at Uwharrie? They have 100 yard rifle bays and a dedicated pistol range.
 
We were there on Wed. It's a trek for us but, would be willing to meet up with others members from the forum.

Quite a drive for me too, but I like it enough to do it again if we can get a couple folks.
 
Just a heads up: a Shootin buddy of mine was there last week and said one of the access roads was closed. Washed out in the last storm. If you come in from the North on 109,
keep going to the next road, Turn at the Hunt camp road.

I went there two weeks ago and took 85S to hwy 109 and went all the way in with no issues.
 
I know I'm late to this thread, but Wadell Arms in Elkin has several pistol bays and some 100yrd bays.
I'll gladly meet anyone up there for some shooting. It's not too far off the beaten path. Much closer than Uwharrie for me.
Not to mention you can get in out of the weather, warm up and add to your collection. (if you're so inclined :D:D:D )

It's like $5/10 or something range use fee.

Plus the owner is a Gun Guy just like most of us. Can't tell ya how many hours I've spent just hanging out, talking shop there.
 
Had no idea there was anything like that in Elkin. A lot closer for me, maybe like 20 mins.
Once the holidays are good and done I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool place. I work only about 10 mins from there. I head up there often to press off a few rounds at lunch.

Haven't been able to get anyone on the phone up there.
Do they have target stands/benches or do you bring your own?

Edit: Or maybe try the Windy Hill range in Elkin, haven't decided yet.

Man I wish I could, but I'm stuck at work in my Execution Week running all the maintenance activities.
 
Necro bump. I have some new stuff I need to try out next week. Anyone wanna come hang out at the Uwharrie range on a weekday?
 
i think a range pass is only 3 dollars or so, ( gotta get it at the outpost)....and they provide targets too...
I may be interested, wife is outta town next week

Steve we need to get together soon. Maybe a cabin trip! I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 years since the last one! Cindy wants to come up to Asheville soon. Maybe get together and take the women out to dinner!
