Post-41F NFA Stamp Tracking thread

If I am the only person on my trust, and I just submitted a form 4, can I redo it as an individual?
As Scott says...you can.

I can't imagine actually doing it. The difference in wait times would never justify the loss of flexibility a trust offers.

ATF NFA is a disaster. Just got an individual stamp back that was submitted in April of this year, that is great. They jumped all of the trust applications I have in some at 330 plus days. I called them and the trusts are taking longer with no reason why. Also I have a couple of individual ones that were skipped and one is missing something but she cannot tell me what and said they will eventually look at it and send me a correction letter. What a cluster.

Form 4 suppressor, individual

@TARHEELSTATE received my application on 6/12
Approval arrived 10/30

130 days.....woot!

Cool!

I would like to think my March submission is right around the corner. Of course, I'm still waiting on a Form 1 from last December.

And I'm still waiting on 5320.20s that were approved 10/11/17. Never had them take more than a week to get to me before, unlike F1s & F4s.

Emailed 9/5/17
Approved 10/11/17
Received 10/31/17

Well...half of them came back today. Called NFA Division and they sent me over to the examiner that approved them. Went directly to voice mail, so I left a message. Uggh. Not sure if he only printed half of them? Or there's another envelope coming with the other half?

Form 1 for SBR submitted by trust just a few days shy of one year ago. Got a call last week requesting additional info. Hopefully the end is drawing near. At least I know some movement has occurred.

Lots of discussion over the last 48 hours about the NFA Division telling people on the phone and in emails that they're shifting 2/3 of the examiners over to entity applications now that the individual stack has gotten down to a reasonable approval time.

Called yesterday about my form 1 individual app submitted last Dec. Still pending, but it was given to an examiner. Yay me.

Hope my April Trust gets approved this year

Suppressor (used) purchased from an individual in state.
Form 4 transfer as an individual
Check cleared 5-23-2017
Approved 10-24-2017

The bad news is that the seller moved and never filed a change of address so my form is most likely back in WV now. My B.I.L. purchased a can from the same guy and his was approved 3 weeks prior to mine. In his case the ATF mailed him the original form and he received it yesterday, I'm hoping for the same outcome.

You can also request a certified copy if you'd like. It'll come straight to you instead of going to the transferor.

Send an email to [email protected] requesting a replacement form.
Include name you registered suppressor to, serial number, date of approval and the
address you want the form mailed to. You can call the NFA branch a couple weeks after sending
the email to check status of replacement form.

I was told earlier this week to use [email protected] for a similar request. Also, they wouldn't take just an email, said that I had to sign a letter...which I could then scan and email.

Not saying your way won't work...just going by what I was told by Jason Bowers on Monday. Trying to get certified copies of some 5320.20 forms that were all approved but only half showed up in the envelope. Uggh.

Yes I forgot the signing part. Basically type letter in adobe, print, sign, scan and email.

This is a quick note to let you know that your application was received by the ATF and the check was cashed on 11/11/2017

Vector SBR :D

If this is the case does that mean individual times are going to go back up? I really hope that's not the case.. I just made my first nfa purchase Sat and filed individual

Who knows?

I think the overall volume is still down, so only time will tell.

Seems like a lot of people were holding out for HPA which would really allow for clearing of backlogs. I wonder if people will go ahead and make their purchase or just not feel as pressured to buy now that there's not a dem in the whitehouse.

2x Form 4 Trust
Submitted 8/16
Pending 8/21
Maybe I'll get them before my birthday in Feb after all.

It's been a while since I've looked at any trackers but I recall my previous items taking 1-2mo to go pending.

It is all over the place. Got 4 stamps back Fridays for customers. 2 individual and 2 trusts. Individuals were submitted early Jan of this year and the trusts were late November of last year.

Where do you go to check the status? My check was cashed today. Guess that gives me an official start date but i'd still like to know for future reference

You have to call the NFA Division and ask.

What information do I need when I call? Sorry for the noob questions, I've never done this before.
Serial number and who it's being transferred to.

I find it a waste of time to call. But, if you want to...it's as simple as "I'd like to check on a Form 4. Serial number ABC-123 transferring from XX Gun shop to John Doe."

I don't think it's a total waste of time. The last lady I talked with was not only pleasant, but down right pleasurable. She seemed almost as excited as I was that two of my pending apps were approved. Lol.

I've never had an unpleasant conversation with them.

But all they can tell you is Pending or Approved. And I know people that call every week for the entire duration. That's what I consider a waste of time. Pay by personal check or CC, and you know it got somewhere. Wait a couple months and call once to make sure it's in the system (since the ATF doesn't actually process the payment). Then be done with it.

I was being a tad faseeshus.

Did you have a chance to shoot this one while awaiting approval? Or shoot a demo one somewhere?

The Nitro (and Turbo) are on my list of possible next cans.
