I cant remember when we planted in earnest.
Maybe June 1st ?? Or last week of May...
can’t remember.

I’ve harvested water of that little roof into the white buckets . That have over filled 3 times now. I fill the black can on the end and dip out of the white ones. Just today I had to get into the black can. Hope it rains good tomorrow night.

Searching around I found that I could dry the basil in the microwave.
A good handful of basil on a plate for 1.5 mins made it crispy dry. Hope tastes good this way.
7-8 mins later and we turned it to this.

I was curious of your drying routine....the harvest looks good. many bug problems?

Sevin is my friend.
a little sprinkle when I first put the plants down. And then I use a water mix spray when they get up in size before setting fruit.

The Japanese beetles were horrid last year. Have not seen them in the Garden yet. they were on a plant in the courtyard, but I hosed that down and they dead now.
I'll try not to use it on the Vegetables now and just spray around the boxes and the Trees/ grass in the yard.

Storm yesterday when easy on the garden, save for one pepper plant... I didn’t stake it and the 8 peppers on it helped keel it over.

Our cucumbers and banana peppers are doing well. Tomatoes are a bit behind. We really didn't do much this year. Work has just been so crazy I won't have time to can so we scaled back. Might plant some late tomatoes here soon and some beans.

Between work and life in general our garden has been neglected this year. Grass and weeds have taken over everything but the potatoes. They aren’t far from coming out of the ground and when they do I will likely mow the rest on down.

Cucumbers, beans, tomatoes, radishes and basil have done really well this year. Cucumbers are a tad behind but catching up. All of my green pepper plants have been chewed in half at the stem by something. I have a net over garden so not sure what has done it.
If you have an abundance of basil (like me) make homemade pesto. Very easy to do and you can freeze it for later use.

Honestly the weeds have been pretty ruff this year being we didn’t get to stay on top of everything due to the move. It’s getting better day by day now though. We’re able to do a little each day instead of work like crazy once or twice a week. We’re getting to eat quite a bit and she’s started canning and freezing quite a few things.

I’ll try to post new pics here soon.

We've gotten a few zucchini , ~15 cucumbers a week, 4 egg plant. 4-5 green peppers and handfuls of basil and rosemary.

The strawberries have runners galore but no flowers.
The garlic rotted at the dirt line.
All the lower Romas, and heirloom Tomatos the squrrels pulled off and ate.
Cucumbers are just about done for the year.
The pumpkins are going gangbusters
The watermelon now have netting since the squrrels knawed the corner of one. They are just
about out of control too. I think I counted 7 in there the other day.

Dried basil, Rosemary, oregano.

How often do you spray the water mix around the boxes? Squash bugs about halfway through now and tend to finish off the squash/zucchini type plants by the end of the summer.

I've only sprayed once more , a couple weeks ago. Seems to be working this way, not much bug damage.
No ants, Beatles, or giant spiderwebs across the face.

IVe been meaning to post these for a bit but just getting around to it. I really like the way some of you guys have the raised beds. We had some a while back and I’d like to start a few more sometime.

Here are some peppers and a few tomatoes 50E6A8A3-9702-4B9B-872E-27210733464A.jpeg
