Elaine had a couple of lumps biopsied this week and got the results this morning: both are malignant.

The good news is that her lymph nodes are clear so it looks like they caught it in time. We meet with the surgeon next Friday. Any prayers you can send our way would be greatly appreciated.

Elaine was about in tears last night while reading the comments here that I printed out for her. Thank you ALL for the outpouring of love!!

Don, I just now saw this. I didn't know to check here until I saw a mention of it in a PM a short time ago. Please let Elaine know that Susan and I have Elaine (and you) in our thoughts and prayers. That is good news that the lymph nodes are clear.

Well do Bill! She's got an appointment this coming Friday. I'll keep everybody updated.
 
Update: We saw the surgeon this morning. He says that the lymph nodes look clear at this point. The biggest tumor (about 3 cm) is a "medium" aggressive form of cancer and the small one (5 mm) is a "mildly" aggressive form. He's recommending a mastectomy and thinks that should take care of it. While we're not happy that this happened, we are both delighted with the prognosis. They are working to get her an appointment with an oncologist next week and to get the surgery scheduled.
 
Good news on the update Don sorry this is the first I'd seen this. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery.
 
Standing with you and Elaine in prayer for a full and complete recovery. There are so many new developments in these treatments that produce favorable results and that is encouraging.

Tell Elaine that she has a lot of people behind her going forward.
