My father is having heart surgery today in about two hours. 6:15am to have a valve repaired or replaced. Luckily his Dr caught it early enough to treat without having a heart attack or stroke first.

Prayers up.
Sounds like your father is in good hands.

Lost my step father to cardiac arrest while slept about 6 years ago. Funny thing is, that afternoon he and his friends were talking about how they'd like to go. He said "in my sleep." And that night he did. He had walked his daily 4 miles that day, 100 push ups and 100 sit ups. Great shape for 72. But that didn't matter.
He was one tough cookie. A decade earlier he went to the ER feeling short of breath after a day of plastering. He was admitted for an emergency quad bypass. two were 90% blocked. And this guy was hanging blue board and laying plaster all day. Ha!

He and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery.

May He be with your family, guide the doctor’s mind and hands, may your family feel His presence and blessings.

Late to this thread but prayers for a speedy problem free recovery.

They were able to repair his heart valve without replacement.
I would say yes. My dad has a bad valve and they've been holding off on replacement because the new ones, as of today at least, only last about 10 years and subsequent replacements get risky. It sounds like he has the ideal outcome.

Prayers for a quick healing.

Alright just got home and finally got to pee. That last hour it was about all that kept me awake.

Thanks for all the prayers. I left today because I didn't expect my dad to be up much today and News is he has already woke up and moved to a Chair in ICU on his own power. So God is great!

Spend as much time with him as you can. The first few days after that kind of surgery are rough. Glad he's doing well.
