Modded the pressure pad for my Streamlight so it’s a direct bolt-up on the forend, without having to use a rail section.

Height difference:

Without mod: surface of pressure pad was 1 1/32” off the surface of the forend.

With mod: 5/16” off the surface and direct fit, eliminating the need for rail section and rubber mounts for the pressure switch.

Could you go into some more detail how you accomplished this?

Clickbait

“I did this, see?”

Show us how you did it man, damn :D

There were two pre-existing holes on each end of the pad (1/8”). These holes were meant to use the included screws with the light to further secure the pressure pad to the rubber rail mounts.

Using those holes as a guide, I bored them out to the same diameter as the keymod mount screws and then countersank the holes to allow for a flush fit of the keymod screws.

Flipped the pressure pad over, and drilled out a recess for the keymod nut, using the underside of a rail section for a guide,

After that, pop the keymod nuts in the bottom of the pressure pad, flip it over and thread the keymod screws into the nuts just enough for the threads to catch. Mount the pressure pad on the handguard, just like you would a rail section. Push it forward toward the muzzle to lock it into place on the handguard, tighten the keymod screws and you’re all done.

It has held up well and has not worked itself loose at all.

That help?

:D

yes, dick. Thank you :p

12 months and Surefire will have their pads made like this, but for MLok. It makes too much sense because if you need to go back to pic, an mlok to pic mount could be decently thin.
