No, I don't mean the ladies you meet on the side of the road! ;)

I have looked into bedding my stock 10/22 for that little bit extra accuracy and consistency, but frankly I do not want to mess with it. Is there anyone in the Charlotte area that does this and does it right?

That makes me start sweating just looking at the pictures. I swear I would screw it up and be one of those guys with the barrel permanently stuck to the stock, lol!
I have read a plethora of threads at RFC and they confirmed that I do not have the time nor patience to do this right.

What barrel is that? Is that the stock receiver?

The nice thing about Brownells bedding, it's easy to carve/shave after a couple hours.
I learned a magic trick this year, use white vinegar to clean up uncured epoxy. I added to, changed the bedding several times to get the results I was after.
This was the first gun I bought 33 years ago, it was a black receiver, I sanded it down, treated the aluminum, then coated it in clear automotive polyurethane, the logo and lettering stand out nicely.
The match Bentz chambered barrel and crotch walnut fiberglass thumbhole stock are 20+ year old Volquartzen.
Ti firing pin, Wolff springs, Kidd firing group. The receiver screw holes were stripped and it was in the safe apart for a few years. Someone mentioned on another blog that Brownells offered oversized screws for just that fix. Scope rings are on the way, I'm pulling the Bushnell Tactical Elite 6-24x glass off my Grendel and putting it on the 10/22.

That is a sweet looking 10/22!

Looks like I am on my own if I want to go through with this bedding thing, lol!

Another old school way that sometimes works fantastic is bond the barrel in the stock with clear silicone and free float the receiver. It's not permanent and you can pull it out. I got it from a guy that competed and worked in Ruger's Custom Shop, that's how my setup was. If you make sure if the stock is wood, it's sealed so you can roll the silicone off with your fingers.
