I bought a 6mm Creedmoor, needing some glass with more magnification than my 3-15 and 4-16z

Looking hard at the Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25 they just dropped a couple months ago.

All the reviews I've seen have spoken highly of it. Obviously they're saving $ somewhere.I started with a Gen 1 PST 6-24x50 and it worked fine. I can not comment on how it compares to the new SE though. The SE has a lot going for it for sure especially at that price point. If you're going to shoot PRS matches join the PRS with a regional membership. You can save quite a bit of $ on stuff. Euro optic is one place you get a discount from. They list the
Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56 FFP EBR-7C MRAD Riflescope SE-52504 for $500.88 With the PRS discount.

Do you have a budget for glass? Vortex is always a good option and they have multiple lines to accommodate variable funding.

The Bushnell Tactical line is also a good choice. I believe @gr8fuldoug (Doug) at Cameraland NY has a smoking deal on some open box HDMR II's (3-21x).

I've had multiple Vortex scopes through the years and recently added several of the Bushnell Elite line to the herd.

My Gen2 Viper PST 5-25x50 is pretty awesome... Some deals to be had if you aren't in a rush...

budget will be under 1000

I got my Bushnell elite tactical XRS 2 for $1025 shipped from masterpiece arms.

An XRS 2 at that price was a STEAL!! I snagged mine from GAP with a Kestrel Sportsman package for $1650 and thought that was a great deal!

I'd give that open box HDMR II a strong look. The glass IMO is much better than the glass in the Vortex PST and Strike Eagle lines.

The only negative I will give the HDMR II is that at lowest power it does tunnel just a touch.

I have a 3-15x SWFA.... but don’t think it will be enough

Just curious, "enough" in what respect? With younger eyes (lol, I am almost 52) 15x got me to 1K with no issues. I will admit now I would use something to >20x. That said, I fully believe in the adage "you can never have too much magnification."

Im approaching 40 with 20-25 eye sight. But what I’ve seen, most use 5-25 range, not saying 15 won’t.

I have a Viper PST 4-16 and SWFA SS 3-15.

Justin my opinion

i had the swfa 3-15 and traded it for a pst gen 1 6-24 (I think) but feel like the swfa was better. I’ve since switched to a pst gen 2 5-25 and think it’s better than the first 2. Long ago I had a Bushnell dmr2 and really liked it as well.

good luck with whatever you pick.

I think for now, going to use my 3-15 SWFA. Then snag a 5-25 Vortex SE, use that till I’m ready to upgrade, and then put that 5-25 on my 10/22

Yeah was going to get the gen 2 pst but this was too good to pass up.

ETA that today I took it out to 1200. The torrents tracked great and felt very positive when dialing. Only thing that would make it better is if the g3 reticle had a floating center dot.

The 5-25 Gen2 Viper PST is a beast. Had no problem up to 1000 yards today and was getting hits at 1200 and easily seeing my own hits and splash ..

I like SWFA as well but don't know what they have that's comparable...

Give Athlon a look along with the Vortex. Both get excellent reviews for their respective reasons. I run an Argos 4.5x27 on my 6.5CM and a Midas on a 308 rig which both I'm very happy with both Picked up the Argos for 500 on sale from 900. Respectively clear glass. Performs great. Tracks correctly, and so on.

Similar customer service reputation as Vortex, no BS, etc.
