PSA Firearm Insurance

I may have to look into this. I rarely carry concealed, but have been thinking about this for years.

A lawyer is useless when a man does not like what another says , hits and kills him and then get 2 years probation . A police officer just doing his job gets 22 years .

No way I prepay for some lawyer who has already spent my money.
Beyond that, the issue I see long term is this will inevitably become mandatory by law and effectively mean nothing other than you jumped through one more expensive hoop for firearm ownership.

I know a lot of LE who have personal coverage (this is not what PSA offers) which I understand and support, but I just can't get behind personal liability coverage as a whole. I understand the purpose, and it *could* be a good thing; you'd likely be glad you had it if it comes to it...I just don't like it in the big picture.

IMO, these insurance hucksters would absolutely love for this to be mandatory and they see the writing on the wall, and they're getting in on the ground floor.

If people are seeing this as a necessity to firearm ownership now, then the right to self defense is essentially dead.

None of these perfectly valid points make insurance a bad idea. It’s a terrible idea for me to decide you need it, but just fine for me to decide for myself.

I'm not even saying it's a bad idea to have it...I just believe it's bad for the 2A in totality. It's going to be one more thing used to control your ability to own firearms and infringe on your civil liberties. Pretty soon you'll need to show your insurance card when you fill out that 4473.

Being old(edit: and a sex offender) does not protect you from getting punched after spouting vulgarities and racial attacks. The man was mean and verbally attacked another with racial meaning and intent. He got called out for it by someone not putting up with it. Got punched out and hit his head. The man who punched him did so with no intent to kill.

The old geezer did what he did with intent.

So you pick and choose who has what rights ?

To point out that you were inferring the same thing in your statement would just create an argument. But i'll try and lay out my point of view in the topic of the 27 year old and a blatantly racist, touchy old man.

Employees of the Dunkin Donuts stated he(dead old guy/DOG) was known to be a troublesome and abusive customer. The customer escalated Corey Pujos response by racially abusing and berating him even after being told to leave by Pujos(manager) and asking to not be called by that word. After denying both requests, he continued with his verbal assault and Pujos punched him in the jaw. Because of the nature of the incident and Pujos having no criminal history. He plead guilty to felony battery charge and will serve 2 years house arrest and 3 years probation with 200 hours of community service.

Now if we remove all racial elements and age of the DOG of the situation and bring it down to a verbal argument. Would you be so defensive of the sex offender man if it (and it likely appears so) was just a verbal argument where the DOG's mouth wrote a check his ass couldnt cash?

Put yourself in his shoes and someone going off on a loved one of yours. Spouting hate and foul language at your wife/daughter/son? Would you put someone in line with a punch? I'd bet you'd do it.

Pujos did not punch him with INTENT to kill him. Yes the DOG is not breathing air anymore. He punched him when he continued his racially based beratement of another person. He continued to do so after given the opportunity to leave and stop, but he didnt take the opportunity.

In regard to the police officer comment. They are to held to a higher standard in their choices. They have a responsibility to the public for safety. A Dunkin Donuts employee has a responsibility for his own safety and he chose to enforce it. He did not know the intent of the man. He did not know if he would be targeted again because of the color of his skin. He did not know if the DOG was going to escalate things. The DOG showed he had no problem being racist.

Thanks for proving my point.
