I’ve just tried to purchase a handgun from another member and he won’t sell it to me because I don’t have a Nc concealed carry permit??? I do have my cc from Florida but he said he can’t sell it to me ???

Is this correct?

Please help

Despite what anyone says, INCLUDING staff.

It is the seller's prerogative to sell to whom he/she/it chooses. WITHOUT shame.

Provided no CFF rules are broken.

There’s the legal requirement, then there’s the personal prerogative.

Legally, if you’re both NC residents and you are not a prohibited person, you don’t need a permit.

But, the seller is always allowed to set his own terms. And that’s ok around here so long as it’s known when making the deal.

As Catfish said, could be all kinds of reasons.

But you don’t need a permit to buy a handgun in NC anymore. Not a Concealed Handgun Permit, or a Pistol Purchase Permit. The PPP system is gone completely.

But a seller can require what they want…as dumb, unnecessary and misguided as they may be.

The answer to your question depends upon the ad and the understanding between the parties.

He can but it seems like he does not want to. If he did state in the post that he needed to see a NC permit he can do that. If he did not state that it's against the forum rules.

Post a link to which thread it is or report it privately to staff. If he didn’t disclose this rule, then he’s in violation. Staff can also check to see if he amended the post after the fact as a CYA.

The seller in question isn’t in violation. No need to post stuff publicly and get that whole fiasco started

There have been no rules broken. All this is gonna do is turn into a bashing folks that require certain things that others do not. Closing this now
