Who has an aftermarket stock on their 455? What model and how does it compare to the standard American stock?

I've been looking at these Boyd produced "Evo" stocks for my varmint barrel 455. They admittedly look like crap but the reviews I'm reading say they are very ergonomic. Anyone have one?

I'm open to suggestions for anything that isn't a ridiculous $500 plastic chassis.

They are ergonomic......goofy lookin' but very comfortable to shoot. Im about to have a Boyds tacticool stock for sale very soon for a 455 varmit.........

Boyd’s Pro Varmint (Tacticool) here also. They’ll likely have a Xmas Sale soon and you might get out $20-$30 cheaper. I pillar bedded the action and it does a great job.

I don't like the LOP and I feel like there isn't enough rise on the comb to get my eye where it needs to be. Personal preference, I'd also much rather have a polymer or laminate stock that I wont worry about bumping around as much.

I have had the Tacticool, the Pro Varmint, KRG, and MPA. Upgraded stocks can make a big difference, but it depends on your ultimate goal. The goal of that stock is weight savings, offhand shooting.

I have never wanted one for that reason, so I can’t speak to that, but the Tacticool can make for a heavy rifle. But I like the Tacticool style for bench, especially if you bed it.

The MPA was my favorite for the best combination of weight, ergonomics on the bench, and the vblock for securing the action.

Completely understand!!! Same reason I change mine out.

Offhand shooting/handling characteristics are one thing I do care about, as this rifle is not just punching paper.

We definitley don’t seem to have as many popular options for that. That Boyd is one often most popular ones I see.
You could make a MDT LSS-22 chassis lightweight, but they are expensive and get into that category you didn’t like. ;)

I shoot bench rest comps with a guy that uses one of these stocks.. Hopefully he will be there tomorrow and I will get a chance to see how it fits when standing and if so,, I will let you know how it feels.. I know what I like I about is the vertical handgrip so that you get a straight back trigger pull, but that part might not be important to you..

Well, for better or worse, I guess I'll know what it's like myself soon.
Boyds had a couple on their "Rapid Fire" sale page for 90 bucks and change, so I snagged the least ugly one.
