I was just involved in a deal to purchase a firearm from someone here and I would like to leave positive feedback for the seller. Unfortunately that requires a thread in the BST section. There isn't one. The seller posted it in the appraisal section and I replied with a little info about it and asked if he was interested in selling. Some time later he contacted me thru pm and offered to sell. We made a deal and the sale has been completed but when I tried to leave positive feed back it requires a thread URL and it won't take the one from the appraisal section. What is the best way to resolve this?
 
Since it was not listed in the For Sale section, the deal didn't take place on the forum. No feedback can be left without an item being listed.

Simplest solution:
Make a bst thread and just use sold at the top when creating it.
Both can then leave feedback if they so desire

The threads in the Wanted section don’t have the Feedback option at the top...but the thread URL is accepted if you go to the persons profile and leave feedback that way. I learned that a couple weeks ago when I tried it.

That’s what I was thinking. Just create a thread.
 
So, he creates a For Sale thread for an item that he doesn't have?

Didn't work for me. Keeps telling me the URL is not accepted.

You said the thread was in Appraisals.

I said mine worked from a thread in Wanted, which is where it was suggested (in the post I quoted) you could put one.
 
Is attempting to defraud the feedback system a bannable offense? ;)
