We have 2024 season passes. I understand your go through metal detectors for guns and knives.
I found on their website that you can't have outside food items.

If anyone have been last year do they look through book bags. I was wanting to carry our toddler some nabs and snacks in .

Thanks for any info.

Wrap snacks inside the diapers. Heck to guarantee noone is going to search it, rub some Nutella on the edges of a diaper and stick it in a plastic bag with the snacks folded inside.

If you need a weapon, those Zytel "letter openers" are a lot better than nothing and don't pop a metal detector.

They don’t care about snacks for babies and younger toddlers.

we always carry gummies and small bags of crackers and chips we were there last summer. they dont use metal detectors they have body scanners. My knees will set off metal detectors LOL

We went twice last year. 3 days in June and 2 days the week before Christmas.

My bag doesn’t really look overly “tactical” but I do apparently and got stopped and searched every time. My wife had a bag and did not. Hers was a backpack cooler/bag combo. We even swapped bags once and they stopped me to check her bag haha. I took my usual EDC bag. I left most stuff in it. I had a Leatherman, those replaceable blade pocket knives with a bunch of extra blades, holster, flashlight, first aid kit, etc. I left my gun, mags and bigger knife in the vehicle. Also hid the orange knife down in a pocket inside the bag. I had a bunch of snacks and water bottles in my bag. My wife had 5 sandwiches and snacks in hers. We got in no problem. They searched my bag and always asked where I got it and said it was an awesome bag. They have some sort of x-ray/metal detector that when you walk through it shows up on their screen if something is suspicious almost like TSA. An actual police officer goes through the bags with a metal wand.

We learned a few tricks and tips. You can buy a season cup for $30ish and use it all year long. Unlimited refills. We bought one cup for all 5 of us and just took turns getting drinks. Get there when they open and get your kid a height bracelet. Make it easier to ride ride so they don’t have to measure at every ride. Luckily our girls were tall enough to ride almost all of them. Dragonflier and Fire Chaser were our top favorites. The girls really liked Rockin Roadway. Don’t shy away if it’s rainy. They still operate rides and way less wait times. Try the cinnamon bread. Oh my goodness. It is amazing. Go to the shows. They are awesome and it gives you a rest haha. Do not go the week after Christmas. I’ve been told it’s a zoo. Feel free to ask. I’ll help if I can.

I forgot that I had a small leatherman on my car keys when we went in, and I didn’t realize it until I pulled out my keys to go thru the metal detector. I apologized as I was showing it to them, and they said it was no issue, and I could take it in.
They did question the altoids-type tin that I had in my pocket, and I had to open it and show them that it was a key fob to my wife’s minivan wrapped in bubble wrap. They liked my explanation that if I just keep that key fob in my pocket, the buttons get pressed and it opens the sliding doors or sets off the alarm. If I keep it in that tin, the buttons don’t get pressed, but the car still has enough reception of the key that the door locks and the push button start start still work
