Rail panels: MAG410 vs MAG510

Wondering if anybody has both the Magpul 410 (XTM rail panels) and Magpul 510 (XTM enhanced rail panels)? Really wondering if you can use one half of one and one half of the other.

I’m trying to piece together some foliage green stuff and have ended up with one of each in route. The color was discontinued back in 2016 or so, and I’m making do with what I can fine. The enhanced panels have texture to them, But the overall design looks about the same?

They come in packs of four pair, but I was hoping to put three pair on each side and wondering if I could pair up pieces of each style instead of alternating complete panels.

Well, of course it couldn’t be as easy as it should’ve been....especially since I’m involved.




The smaller tabs aren’t the same width. That doesn’t impact the middle one, and the two locking tabs are ok.

So, where there’s a will...and a razor blade..there’s a way!!



Had to cut the outer half off one tab of the 510, and the inner half off one tab of the 410. At least the color matches.



Now to do the other side. Six more cuts and this build is “done”.
