After 4 weeks of non-stop working I managed to head to the range today. I took only leveler action rifles and 2 handguns.

The rifles were 2 Rossi 92 (357 20" and 44 16") and a Marlin 45-70. Started with the 357 and it shot as good as I could ever shoot it. The gun was wearing the buckhorn sights. Next up was the 16" 44 Mag. with a Skinner peep sights. Last time I shot this gun, I had the large aperture (0.155") which was too large at 100 yards. I ordered the smallest aperture (0.40") and at 50 yards it was too small. Everything was shooting about 8" low and to the right. Not sure how to adjust the elevation with a peep sight and keep it aligned. ANY SUGGESTIONS? Might go back to the buckhorn sights.
Then the 45-70 was up. I was shooting about 14" low at 50 yards and again to the right. Last time I had this gun out I was hitting bowling pins at 100 yards. I tried to tap the buckhorn sights to the left but hit it a little too much. Could never get it back in target plus the loads that I was shooting were for the Ruger (405 rn SWC @ 1895 ft/sec). After 10 rounds I had enough. What is the best way to sight in buckhorn sights?

The handguns were a 1911 Citadel 45 and a Ruger LCP II. The 1911 shot better than it ever shot before. The LCP II is new and only had about 20 rounds through it so I figured that I run 50 to 75 down range. These were all reloads with all types of bullets. No problems what so ever and really like the slide staying open on the last shot.

For the peep sight, you should be able to "unscrew" it 1/2 turn to raise your POI. There may be a set screw to loosen before doing so.

Edit: it's been a while since I sold my Rossi with Skinners....I don't recall if you can remove the aperture and make 1/2 turn adjustments, or if you need full turn adjustments only.
