So, future ref. question.

Ive got a RPR in 6mm, which is a 308 bolt face.... Is it possible to go down in caliber? Id love to rebarrel to 6.5grendel, but that would require a smaller bolt face.

Do I have options here, or just have to buy another rifle?

New bolt and barrel, probably cost the same as a new rifle.

If you stick to the same family of 308 cartridge you can keep the same bolt and just change out the barrel. Obviously doesn't help wanting to go to the grendel...

Speaking of which, why the grendel?

Always liked the grendel. Very fond of the round. Ill probably just pick up a RAP in 6.5G and put it in a magpul stock

I dig it as well, but to me it makes more sense in a gas gun.

Looking at rebarreling to a different caliber because you don't like the 6cm?

No, I love the 6cm, but barrel life will be short. I expect anywhere from 800-1600 rounds, give or take.
That's probably about right. The last build I did a 6.5x47 mainly for that reason. And the factory ammo is friggin amazing!
