Brought my 08 4x4 Ltd Rav 4 in for some recall work.
Rear stabilizer bars were replaced and the rear seatbelt upgrade done.
Got a free 4 wheel alignment.

The muffler had a hole rusted in it and I had been putting off replacing it since it was not loud and still passed inspection.

Got it back and it had a whole new exhaust from the manifold back!!
Holy crap.
Apparently, there was a recall on the exhaust for cars originally sold in, or currently registered in states that use salt on the roads.

Unexpected suprise!!

Moral of the story, check the recall website before doing any work.
Occasionally, it pays to use a real dealership.
You may get a nice suprise!

Side note, the dealership tried every upsell in the book to get me to shell out cash. Battery is bad, blinker fluid etc etc.
I got a phone call from thier "VIP sales upgrade dept" not 12 hours after leaving.
 
I'm glad you got your Rav 4 fixed. My mom loves her Rav 4 ,it's been the most useful vehicle she has owned. I think hers is a 2011 or 12.



I had trouble with my wife's 2016 Honda HRV,various minor problems. The dealership didn't want to fix the issues or take time to find them. We got tired of messing with Honda and the dealership ,so we traded it for a Toyota. We've had several Honda cars over the years that were great ,but we either got a lemon or they are going downhill on reliability. This is the first Toyota, but probably not the last. Much better machines so far.
