Vermont state senator proposing to ban all semi-automatic weapons in several locations

https://vtdigger.org/2019/12/04/sen...-assault-style-weapons-in-some-public-spaces/

“Everybody’s sort of conditioned to accept the fact that in public, people are going to carry weapons that are designed to kill large numbers of human beings,” Baruth said.
“I don’t think we’ve reached a consensus on banning assault weapons,” Baruth said. “But I do think we’ve reached a consensus that we don’t want them in the public square.”
“I think generally speaking, people would acknowledge that the places you just described are not ones that probably are appropriate for people to bring assault weapons to,” he said.

Note how he starts off saying "semi-automatic" then moves on to talking about "assault weapons"? And in the comments, you can see that his phrasing works.

There’s no secret that total prohibition followed by confiscation is their goal. They can’t achieve a socialist / communist society with an armed populace. They cry and wail about criminal violence while targeting the average person.

Let them pass whatever they want. We The People will not comply. If they want to get tough about it, we’ll they can be made to regret it. If instead of cowering like the disarmed soviets did, waiting you hear those dreaded words “you’re under arrest”, the patriots on the “right” got organized and took the fight to the “leftists” they’d run out of targets before lunch.

Good example of ‘pacing and leading’
