Headed home early to prep for a fire this evening. I know we are planning a bigger get together, I'm not prepared for it today, but Chdamn if you're out and about this evening feel free to stop by.

Okay. You got an open invitation and we'll have a weekend coming up soon like we planned via PM at the old site.

Got the fire bowl filled and covered. If it gets to snowing tonight, I will fire it up. If still just rain, I will save it for tomorrow.

Well I'm out here. I think I'm just going to burn up the rest of the top of a pine tree I recently cut up. Then I think I'll call it a night. I didn't think it would start snowing so hard this early. I'm already soak and wet and I feel like I'm standing in a steam room at a Hungarian Bath House.

Fire Pit bound in a few minutes. My son and I have been out today working on raising a big stump from a pine that fell last year. The one that had the yellow jacket nest under it. Little flying demon bastards from hell are finally gone. After going through a few sawzall blades cutting several huge roots, including the tap root, we were able to raise it to vertical. While I was up there, I cut up another pine that fell a few days ago. Hauled it all down to the pit and will burn it all up tonight. Looking forward to a good Saturday night fire for a change. No wind and cool weather finally. May post a pic or two later............. Dave

Very ice. I was going to do one tonight as it is perfect weather, but I am in the mountains solo and drinking by the fire is never fun alone.

I did it every Friday and Saturday night I posted pics. Solitude is a beautiful thing, although I was usually yapping with all you bozos the whole time on the smarty phone.

I did sit on the deck as the sun set with a drink or three. But I am a social creature, especially when it comes to booze and fires.

Maybe I should host a firepit night up here this Spring, I need to burn a LOT of wood. We'll have to wait until charliedeltajuliet is better first. Maybe it can be his all better bash. I'll fire up the smoker for that too.

+1 on fireside solitude. Nekkid fireside snoggin' on the bear skin rug with yer sweetie is better... but solo when she's being a PITA is still nothing to gripe about.

We got the firebowl going yesterday night. It was a good time. I have a lot of sweet gum to go through before it rots.

Firetrucks from multiple stations just started their sirens off in the distance and got the dang Coyotes howling. Sounded like a bunch of indians belting out their war whoop.

Iv'e got in the works of getting a pallet plus of split faced cinder blocks for the hauling.. Going to build me something off the deck this year.
The granddaughters are going to love it ! ;)

Just finished prepping mine for the cold weather. A few days ago, this firepit was a mess. A pine tree and several huge Tulip Poplar branches were laying across it and all around it.

Got it nice and tidy now:

My method normally involves a few pallets as a base, as much firewood as I can safely tepee on top of it, a full grown propane blowtorch and a big helping of bourbon and coke.
