Well it looks as if my eyes are aging even if my spirit is not. So .... its time to make some additions to my rifle sights so I can still hit the target.

How do you guys use a reflex sight?
As the only sight or with a front sight?
With a front and rear sight?
With a magnifier?
What say you and why. Thanks for your help guys and gals.

I switched to Vortex Spitfire 1x on my carbine and even ditched the buis because I can't use them.

ETA: and a prism sight works without batteries

I prefer no magnification because I use it on my home-defense rifle and no magnification makes it easier for me to get on-target quickly since the sight-picture looks just like what my normal vision is looking at (I worded that poorly, hope you caught my drift).

I do have BUIS but only because it's on my home-defense rifle so there has to be a fallback that isn't beholden to the charge of some batteries. I don't actually _use_ the BUIS, I ignore them for now... would only pay attention if the batteries died & it was an emergency (I learned to shoot the AR-15 on irons & shoot other things with irons, so hopefully wouldn't be too rusty).

I love my Aimpont out to 100'. Mu guess is with some more practice amd actual training it could be stretched out auite a bit. For home defense a good red dot or reflex sight should work fine.
