Since the children are all gone, I've got my wife on board with turning one of the bedrooms into a reloading/gun maintenance room. (mainly because she wants my reloading bench out of her dining room and me to quit tearing guns apart on the kitchen table) I'm in the middle of tearing out the carpet and putting down some laminate flooring, painting, etc. I'll have my reloading bench and I'm going to put in a work bench with a vice and all. Are there other things you have or would put in there that people don't often think about that just makes life easier for reloading or working on guns?

Tool box, hanging cabinets, extra lights, some sort of wall mount hanger system for getting rifles and do-dads out of your way.

Adequate lighting…

Install some LED shop lights.

Rolling tool cart from Harbor Freight. Closed with a mat on top to work on guns and tools in the drawers at the finger tips. Also check out the three door wall storage cabinet to keep cleaning supplies and the likes in. For about $350 for both but if you wait until some coupons come out you can get it cheaper.

I have this 46" rolling cabinet in my garage with my 6" vise mounted on it. I bolted it through a 1/4" aluminum plate on the underside so that it didn't buckle the top when using it. It's $299 right now. I have alot of supplies store in it.

Would work well for working on guns on top, powder and primer storage in the cabinet and dies and tools in the drawer.

To go along with the good lighting, add a standalone magnifying glass with adjustable height and angles and one you wear on your head with good lighting. On tool & supply storage, spend a little extra and make sure it is organized storage. There is a difference between being out of sight and being organized so the tools and supplies are easily found. Nothing will ruin your mood while reloading and working on your guns like not being able to find what you need.

@PKJ

lots of good suggestions in this thread. To me lighting, ventilation and electrical sources would be key. Akro bin wall mounts are big plus for space saving. My garage has multiple of these…

Amazon product ASIN B003BT4G8Y
i use a ton of inline fabrication equipment and have been 100% satisfied. His quick mounting system is clutch for changing presses and saving space. way better than having a press forever stuck in one location. He also has lots of nice add-ons for presses. All have worked well for me from primer catchers to bin holders.

Another vote for inline fabrication. Big fan of the quick mounting system as well.
