We bought a Remington 1187 20ga youth model a few months back. My son loves it for doves squirrels rabbits and such. Last time he took it out I noticed it was having a hard time pulling back the bolt. I took it it apart and it cycled normally if I use the action bars but with the handle it will not pull back without alot of effort....

So back to the factory it goes. The guy that answered the phone was great and because I had registered the warranty online he knew my info from my phone number. I'll will post how long it takes for a round trip

I didn't update this and I should have.

Remington handled this warranty repair like a champ! Turns out that Ahlman's in Minnesota handles most if not all of most of the big firearms mfgers warranty work.

They turned it around in 2 weeks. Turns out that one of the action bars was broken and I suspect my son was shooting slugs and high brass thru the gun without removing the barrel seal activator.

The 20ga manual doesn't specify removing this in the 20ga guns but it does in the 12ga guns and the consensus online is that you need to take it out if shooting powerful loads. It's job is to make the gun cycle with light loads.

So anyhow, Ahlman's did a great job so kudos to them and to Remington for hiring such competent gunsmith's https://ahlmans.com/
