Finally replaced the recoil spring in the G34; spreadsheet shows it has 11,507 rounds on it. It may be a placebo, it it did feel like it recoiled just a little softer with the new spring. Cycling it by hand doesn't feel like anything different except maybe the last 1/2" of travel, it snaps back with a little more authority when manually cycling the slide just a little to reset the trigger in dry fire.

Took me a few years to hit that number, I'm not one of the cool kids that shoots a lot all the time but I can say after 11k rounds out of a glock that I'm officially no longer a 1911 guy.

Old on the left, new on the right:

I replaced one on a USP40 at roughly the same round count. Had 16k+ on the gun over 14 years when I sold it and I can count the number of stoppages on one hand with fingers left over.
If I would have bought a USP9, Id still have it lol.
Glad your little blaster has held up.

Geez, my DW 1911 spring is good for 15,000 rounds. :p

Yeah it only cost about $800 more to get there. ;)

I think some people change recoil springs far more often than actually necessary.

I change them to go to different rates mostly. I've changed two in pistols as preventative. One LE trade in M&P357 and one G17.

No idea on accurate round counts for my G17s, at least 10k on a 13lb no issues. Changed in April to an 11lb because I didn't want it acting up due to a worn out spring in class. Should be about 4k on it now, the 3000 some odd I loaded just before the class are long gone.
