Anyone have one? Good,bad, ugly?
Looking at getting one for my Tacoma, however it's a chunk of money.
I like the design of them and the security, having delt with roll up compartment doors on various fire apparatus and emergency vehicles, I understand the pros and cons of the roll up door and track system, which is basically what this is.

The only other one I have been considering is a BakFlip MX4, however they take a lot of work to not leak like a sieve due to the Tacoma bed rails.

I have a Rugged Liner that I bought used off of CL, and love it.
It only has minor leaks down the tailgate once adjusted correctly.

No experience with the Retrax.

I have never owned a Re Trax but have a friend who had one, he said it was great for about a year, then it started to bind up and become difficult to roll up.

I do have a Bakflip MX4 on my F150 and I love it. They Tacoma must be different because mine is pretty water tight. I drove through the remnants of 2 hurricanes on my to and from NC last Sept and everything stayed bone dry in the bed.

I had a retrax on my old tacoma and liked it. I think they might have a new version that is made of aluminum now, maybe the pro version or something. Mine split at the joint near the box it rolls up in after 4 years or so and I had to replace the whole center cover section. Cost around $600 for the repair. It was the original polycarbonate one and I had it on a 2006 tacoma. A friend at work had the same issue with his. Hopefully they have fixed the design now. I would think about another one on my next truck.

The issue with the Tacomas stem from the bed rail caps, not my truck but a stolen photo..

Where the edge of the cover sits, it's tough to get a seal due to all the ridges. You can silicone or RTV it, but it can be a pain. Some people's are good, some leak alot.

They make the polycarbonate version still but the Pro is aluminum, which I would get the Pro.

Go ahead and get an undercover top. Best top out there. Yes it’s one piece, yes you have to have two people to take it off, for the most part. But they seal better and are tougher than most out there
