Revolver training?

I used to be fair with them there wheel guns. But I'm pretty far away.

Maybe @BatteryOaksBilly is a bit closer.

There are not that many opportunities to complete with revolvers these days. It's pretty much down to:

1. IDPA
2. ICORE (if you can actually find one of those matches, and then they are typically shooting those 929 8 shot 9mms)
3. Steel Challenge (though revolver shooters are a very small contingent now)
4. USPSA (I guess)

But your best bet just might be to find some outlaw matches like Zombie, etc. Places like Flatwoods where John Z runs matches or Oxford, NC have several formats where they'll let you shoot just about whatever you want.

The ICORE match in Charleston is a good group I’ve only seen six shooters with everyone so far - i just need to set up an ICORE club in York county somewhere 👍

Thanks for the mention...I've been out of the competition end so long I wouldn't be much help. Competition is The Best for manual of arms training.

I feel like there is much to learn about revolvers, completely aside from their competition use. I'd imagine you could help quite a lot.

I picked up a S&W 629. I want to get a decent (prefer used) holster, crank out a bunch of ballistically 44spl rounds & head down to see how much Billy can teach me in an afternoon. Seems a good excuse to hang out with the man, I haven’t made it down since Geezer’s send off.

You could learn a heck of a lot from Slacker, if he shot guns anymore!

@John Z is a beast with a wheelgun. He's near Fayetteville now I think.
Not Fayetteville, Hubert (Jacksonville) we run an ICORE match on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Not an official club yet, been there before, just waiting to see if we get enough interest to start one up again. We have had 4-6 revo shooters at the ICORE matches the last 2 months, and have allowed semi autos downloaded to 8 rounds to shoot with us.
