Road House (remake)

I may watch it, but it’s gonna be hard to match the first one.

They tried it with another Swayze film…”Red Dawn” and no, no comparison to the original. Jed Eckert smoking a commie with a single-action, while shouting, “Because we live here!”…how you gonna top that?

What are they going to do next? Try a remake of “Next of Kin”?

I really liked the first one. And generally follow ups aren’t that good. It was better than I expected. But, it would have been much better if they had a guy like Reacher play the lead.😉
 
I want to know if that’s the best they could get out of McGregor or if he really is that much of a tool

Did they intend for him to look like an absolute fool?

I’ve not watched this one yet, so I’m not familiar with the “McGregor Best.” But let’s not forget the several bad guys in the original were very campy.
 
It was different enough from the original to not be a straight rehash.
Jake trained hard for this one. Conor was pretty good as the cocky killer for hire.
Enough plot threads left dangling for a sequel.

It was at least watchable to me, at least compared to the other two movies I watched for the first time this weekend. I contemplated cutting the other two off multiple times.

Road House was better than Black Adam and the latest Aquaman.

Although, it was kinda funny to hear my wife say Road House was just ridiculously unbelievable, even worse than the runway scene of F&F6 that was on the TV when we cut the movie off. She also wasn’t fully prepared for the level of violence in RH.

Well, I can see why it was so long. So many brilliant cinematic ideas. How could they stop?

Good to see that Conor is not coked out of his mind.
 
I said I wasn’t gonna watch it cause ghey. Then I said it was missing Jeff Healy.

But every time I see a clip it makes me think of a cross between brokeback mountain and fight club

I was so annoyed by the Conner strut I found myself doing it the better half of the afternoon after I watched it.
 
I watched it the other night.

And I liked it.

Connor McGregor was fantastic as a lunatic. Was he acting? I dunno. They probably gave him a bag of cocaine and told him to have fun.

Jake Gyllenhal? Pretty good. He worked with what he was given(which wasn't the best script ever) and did a good job.

I'd probably watch it again. And if there's another, I'll certainly see it.

Oh, and Post Malone? Bah. Crummy cameo.
 
it was not bad really. Biggest issue I had was that I kept waiting for THE MOMENT when Sam Elliot(or a similar character) walked thru the door to help. That would have been cool.
 
I didn't hate it. I kept waiting for Ellie to loose her top but that didn't happen despite several great opportunities. I laughed at the too honest bad guy too much also. The ending was also funny to me as naked ass Connor goes strutting out into the streets.

It's pretty bad when Amazon Prime promises nudity and the best we got was Connor's butt. LOL.
 
The first one, I watched it 2-3 times over the years. Best parts were the T&A. I just could never get into it despite some good actors. Sorry, not really a Swazey guy. I did watch the new one last night as it was free (don't pay) I think this is along the lines of the Hotshots and Naked Gun series WRT the original. Anyone else think this was just a DEI movie? Look at them all, nut house not road house.

I got to understanding Jake's demeanor after a while, but it was too slow to start and then wrapped up too fast. Mcgreggor absolutely sucks as an actor. I didn't take this movie seriously, but Mcgreggor's character was just plain stupid. It catered to him so much the last 1/3 that I got to thinking he bankrolled it to get more chicks. If I wanted to see a dudes butt I'll call Chief lol
