This would be for a budget lightweight AR build. They seem to be nearly identical and from what I can tell are both made by Holosun. Both are $120 shipped from PSA.

Does anyone have an opinion on these RDS's?

I have the Romeo 5 on a Beretta CX4 Storm. Great sight! Holds zero. Cowitness on that gun by removing the riser from the Romeo. Got mine from PSA. GREAT DEAL!

Between the 2 you've picked, the Romero 5 is the best personally. But, check out the Holosan HS403C. It's both battery and solar. I love the fact that its on as soon as I pull it up.

Also its tought as nails. I've been abusing one for 2 years now. Still holds zero from the day I bought it and it's been through hell.

Both are great little sights. Buy both at $120 ea., there will be a need for a extra one somewhere. I have used both and as mentioned earlier, both made by Holosun. Some folks get hung up on the Big Company names and they think that makes them better. All that is that the Big Company purchased a large amount from the manufacturer (Holosun) , changed a small amount in the looks, and had the name of the purchaser put on it. That is a great selling point if you ever decide to move the sight. If folks realized how much sub-contracting is done in the outdoor industry , they would be shocked. It is simple business. Somebody that specializes in one product will put your name on it is you buy enough. I remember back when I got started with building 1911's, some folks thought that if the pistol did not say Colt on it, that it was of poor quality. Just the Colt name would bring a premium. Colt made great products and for sure knows something about a 1911
Been there, done that. Back when I was building a lot of 1911's, I contracted with a top barrel maker and had my name on the barrels. The trick is getting a product made from a manufacturer that produces quality. Either sight will serve you well. I myself have a extra Sig sitting at home waiting for a new rifle build. I will use it someday.

You won't be disappointed at all. I use one on my PCC Carbine in USPSA competition. Once sighted in, it will be here till you move it. Not sure what you will be putting it on, but I will give you a tip for shooting it. If you are shooting fairly close , CQB distances, you can run the dot a little brighter. If you are shooting at distance and need more precision, upper A/B zone shots at 100 on a IPSC target (head), dim the dot down. They work great. All of my AR's with the dots are sighted at 100, just know how high to hold when shooting a 10 yds. Usually the distance of the dot over the bore.

The interweb seems to be in love with the Romeo, so who am I to buck the trend?

I'll give her a go and report back.

Just purchased an AR9 pistol and looking at the same two red dots. Have you had a chance to try out the Romeo yet? Thanks.

I'm going to sight in that rifle this weekend.

It does seem well built, the dot is as clear as my PRO. I would recommend it.

As a side note, mine did not come with the low mount. I called sig and they shipped it to me no questions asked.

Thanks for the info. Looks like PSA's getting more of my money.

I sighted in the rifle today. The ONLY thing I don't like is that the mount is a tad low. That's picking nits though.

Other than that, it's a fantastic red dot.
