I've located a stainless, 16" barrel, Rossi/BrazTech label, '92, in 45 Colt. I would like the rifle to go along with my 45 SAA revolver. The rifle has a "reduced" price of $589.00, plus tax. Anyone have an opinion on the price?

I presently have the same rifle (just labeled Rossi) in 357/38 Special and I'm very pleased with it. It does have the unnecessary safety. I do not shoot CAS. I just enjoy shooting this rifle with somewhat reduced 357 loads.

I paid 475 for a blued one, used. And that was probably 6 years ago. If that's new price that's reasonable.

There is a safety delete for that odd safety that turns it into a peep sight.

I would shoot for a lower price, maybe 525-550, but if you're wanting the convenience/now factor, that ain't robbery. Safety is easy to replace with a spent 22 casing or a plug if you're ever out this way.

Stainless does get more cash than blued. I have seen blued 44 magnum one for mid $500s in Raleigh. Probably still there.

http://store.stevesgunz.com/ has stuff for it like better springs and followers and the safety replacement thingies (cap or sight).

I replace the springs in my 38/357 and had to take it to a smith to get it back together. After doing some research they is a trick using dental floss to get the ejector spring back in the bolt. I did get the trigger pull down to 1# and that was without really trying.

I have the steve's gunz parts. I have not the replaced the "safety" with the peep sight. Watched the video, and done some of the mods. It's as slick as I want it.

I did have a problem that almost drove me bonkers. I had problems loading rounds. The problem was a .357 round with a burr on the case head, kind of inside the ejector groove. I discovered that the same cartridge was hanging up every time on the cartridge stop. The following round would not load. I would have to remove the magazine plug, spring and follower, dump the loaded rounds, fiddle with the cartridge stop and then remove the offending round. The problem kept repeating itself, depending on when that round was loaded. I finally dropped each of the rounds into a Lyman Case Checker and I had one round that wouldn't go! When examining the round that wouldn't go, I discovered the burr. Voila! I failed to mention that this ammo was reloads. I must have picked up a case that had been fired from a .357 rifle, of some kind. I now case check every one of my .357 reloads.

The 16" stainless in 357 is a hens tooth.
The 45 LC chambering isn't as desirable, imo.

The MOST desired is the 16" stainless 357 with the winchester style (blade) iron sights. I never understood why they don't make that configuration anymore. Buckhorn sights just plain stink on a M92 clone.

I just recently had one of these rebarreled to .256 win mag. I also had the mag tube reduced to 10". I like it a lot but the stock sights just ain't cutting it. Does anyone have and recommendations on a decent tang or aperture sight? I should also say I do not want nate kiowa jone's safety mounted peep, I think it looks horrible. Below is a picture of gun with the original barrel above it. John Taylor of Taylor's machining did the work.

crap, I forgot I have one of those barrel mounted peep sights buried somewhere. I guess I'll try that out.

Try Skinner peep sights and get the different rear inserts for different distances.

Since it is a Braz-Tech import it is either NOS or used. Seems a touch high to me. Ask them to pay the sales tax on it (if it is at a dealer) if they won't come down on the tag price.
