Ruger 57

Is there really all that much interest in that little varmint cartridge, which is over-rated in a pistol?

Wasn't it developed for piercing ceramic body armor?
Isn't it down-loaded for civilian use?
Isn't it expensive?

It’s like a supercharged car it’s about smiles per gallon vs mpg. The 5.7 is a hoot to shoot and something awesome about 50 rounds in a ps90 that doesn’t weigh that much.

Well, it looks like they lifted whatever review embargo they had in place because now I am seeing this thing everywhere.

Ruger will literally make almost anything. Including a pistol for budget Belgian ballin.’

But they won’t make a LCP-32.

Yeah Instagram just blew up with it. Depending on MSRP I might have to find a mold for this one.

I’m waiting to see street price. I’ve wanted an FN Five-seveN to pair with my PS90 and AR57. This one is getting closer to the price that will make me a buyer.

If memory serves 799 is the MSRP on the SR1911 and the street price is typically 600-650 range.

I saw this in my daily GrabAGun email last night. Its selling on there for $650.

I thought I had just missed this gun over the years. Sounds like it just hit the scene based on everyone reaction. Cool for sure. But so many guns in queue ahead of it for me.

I don't want to be the first on the block to hook up with one. I got sucked into an FN5.7 which honestly was one of the worst pistols I've ever owned. Trigger absolutely sucked. Had so much pull and the thing was so light that it would pull your sights off target. Of course you could send off a thousand dollar pistol for a 300 buck trigger job. If anyone buys one I've got a metric ton of ammo you can purchase.

You can run .22TCM9R (not to be confused with .22TCM) through Glocks with the right conversion barrel.
you can use the 22TCM9r in a 22TCM gun but you cant run 22TCM in a 22TCM9r the case is the same the 9r has a shorter bullet so it will fit in 9mm mags the 22TCM uses a 38 super mag I have one of the early 9mm/22tcm RIA 1911s and it is a blast to shoot you will get some "looks" at the range with one loud and lots of fireball

22TCM is sooooo much more of something I would like to see go mainstream. Also faster and heavier than 5.7

I always thought the 22TCM rifle was an interesting idea too. A matching pair might be cool. The varmint version of a 357 mag combo?

Yea the hardest thing about shooting the FN is its so light it likes to wiggle on you. Hopefully this will help ammo prices come down. With a new gun on the market.

Remember the cartridge was designed to penetrate Soviet Body Armor during the Cold War. I fired one back in 1988! Still have a 5.7mm empty cartridge case I brought back from West Germany. Then came the handgun AP bullet ban by the Dems. Is the cartridge effective out of a handgun? Remember the Ft Hood treason/traitor used one along with a Ruger SP101 in .357.

Wonder if @snal will be the first to have one..or 3...lol

I have owned a FN 5.7 for some time and I love the pistol and the round. Very accurate and easy to shoot round. 20 + 1 nice too! The reviews of the Ruger look pretty good. If I had to do it again now I would seriously consider the Ruger. I am glad others are using the round, hopefully more ammo manufacturers will start producing and drive costs down.

17 rounds per mag I have 6 mags just don't shoot it at night you will see spots for a while
You obviously have the double stack model, lol. Those must be fairly rare. All the ones I've seen for sale or have handled are based on a standard single stack 1911. I'm guessing you could probably fit 25 or so 5.7 rounds in a gun that size.
